Head Varsity Coach / Special Teams Coordinator
Heath Gilbert

This year, Coach Heath Gilbert enters his 15th year of teaching strength training and health along with coaching football.  Coach Gilbert played football and lacrosse for Queen Anne’s County High School in Centerville, MD.  Coach Gilbert was recently named to the Queen Anne's County High School hall of fame.  He will be inducted in the 2012 class.

He then continued his education and football career at Shepherd College, now Shepherd University, in  Shepherdstown, West Virginia where he started at linebacker for four years and was a two year team captain.  He saw success at Shepherd both individually and as a team.  Gilbert finished his career with 37 starts and 5th all-time in solo tackles.  As a team Shepherd won two conference titles and was ranked 11th in the nation his senior year.

While at Shepherd, Coach Gilbert played all five years for Jeff Casteel, now the Defensive Coordinator at Arizona University, and Monte Cater, the all-time winningest coach in Shepherd University and WVICA history.  Coach Gilbert attributes much of his knowledge and philosophy of the game to both of these successful men.  Once becoming a High School coach he feels fortunate to have learned from two excellent mentors, Mark McHale, whose last two stops were at Marshall University & Florida State University, and Kevin Anderson, now Shenandoah University Head Baseball Coach and former NCAA D-1 Baseball Coach of the Year.  Coach Gilbert has taught and coached, ten as head coach, in Warren County Public Schools for his entire career.

He and his wife Tara, a 1995 graduate of Warren County High School, were married in 2001.  The couple has a nine year old girl, named Peyton and a five year old boy named Andrew and they reside in Warren County.
