Zack Blair and Nick Helmick led the way for the defense. Fellow seniors Brendan O'Connor and Chris Grady were stout
on the night. The play of the night came from saftey Aaron Jeremiah and his strong tackle short of the first down on
a Sherando reciever to prevent the clock from stopping and the time ran out on the Warriors as they frantically tried to stop
time to no prevail.
Then the celebration was on! The Hawks earned "Check Mate" and celebrated with

struggled to contain the pass, giving up 289 through the air. The defense was able to get a few stops in the second

a school record 63 points and senior running back #1 Dayvon Haight scores the longest touchdown in Skyline history with a
94 yard blast off right tackle. The defense would not allow the offense to hog all the spot light as the senior duo
of #42 Zack Blair and #56 Brendan O'Connor both score defensive touchdowns; this was the first time our team has scored two
defensive touchdowns in the same game. The game started fast for
the Hawks offense as Haight scores on the first play from 70 yards out to establish the early lead. The Hawks score
on their second possession by way of rush by #1 again from 38 yards out. The Hawks now led 14 to 0. The defense
forces a 3 and out and the offense goes old school and runs the single wing spinner series in 4 plays to score from 38 yards

from 39 yards out and a Washington KOR for a touchdown make the first quarter score 28 to 7. The second quarter starts

Hawks continue their first half dominance with a 15 yard Breeden touchdown in the "wildhawk" set to bring the scoring total
to 42 points. Senior Zack Blair would intercept a Washington pass late in the half for a 44 yard touchdown return to
make the halftime score 49 to 15. The Hawk starters would play two more series in the second half before giving
away to the reserves. The offense got the ball back after a another 3 and out by the defense and went to work. Sophomore

Nick Helmick for a 50 yard completion. Then he completes the drive with a 13 yard run for the score. The Hawks

the offense. He showed poise and focus. Evan went 9 for 9 on PAT's! The reserves would finish
the third and fourth to preserve the victory 63 to 21. Fantastic team win for the Hawks. The victory improves
the team to 6 and 1. The Hawks have three games remaining in the season. Home next week against Handley and then
on the road against Sherando and RIVAL Warren. Come out and support your HAWKS!

September 14, 2012
The Skyline Hawks football TEAM played "Fast & Physical" for 48 minutes.
The entire team was able to participate in the victory. A fast paced first half propelled the Hawks to a 39
to 0 victory over non-district foe Brentsville.
Offensively many Hawks were able to scored. Dayvon Haight started

Defensively a host of Hawks paved the way but seniors Zack Blair, Chris Grady, Nick
Helmick, and Brendan O'Connor stand out again. But, for the second staright week outside linebacker Marcus
Turner makes the defensive play of the game. Rumor has it, that the man of few words Turner, called his interception
for a touchdown before the play and told Breeden about on the way to pay dirt!
The Special Teams were led by the outstading effort and big hits by senior #22 Brandon
Sims. Great work to all for their heart and passion on special teams.

Skyline at Sherando
October 29, 2010
The Hawks fall in Stephen City 28 to 0. The Hawks defense turned in an outstanding
team effort Highlighted by a first half shutout. The Lone Sherando score came by way of interception for a touchdown.
A late miss alignment in the secondary allowed a long touchdown pass and catch to ice the victory. But in the end the
defense was asked to carry too much of the load and was wore down.
The defense had many productive players as this group did a good job against Sherando's
top back. In the secondary the Hawks were led by defensive player of the week Kwuante Stewart and his 8 tackles and
Trayvon Freeman with his 9 tackles. The linebacker corp were all solid. The inside backer combination of Ty Helmick
and Chris Grady tallied 20 tackles on the night; Grady's most productive night! The defensive line of Pingley, Settle,
Meador, Wells, and the lineman of the game Ben Schurtz were all tough inside. Ben had 13 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The offense had a bit of a new look with Sophomore Aaron Jeremiah getting his
first start of the season. Aaron had a couple "up and downs" but over all made good decisions under constant pressure.
Offensive player of the week Kareem Caison was the most productive Hawk weapon on the night. Sherando's front proved
to be difficult for the Hawks to handle.
The Hawks have one game remaining on the season with rival Warren County. Gametime
is at 7:00pm at Warren County. Throw the records and rankings out the window this is the Big Game!

for this unit. The defensive line battled play in and play out. Handley has a dangerous rushing attack and our
kids were able to hold that group to 138 on the ground. Too many turnovers to overcome.

nearly 400 yards of total offense but mistakes and penalties ended scoring threats. The special teams were led by Derek

The defensive unit led by middle line backer Ty Helmick hardly gave an inch all game
long. The defensive line of Pingley, Soyars, Wells, McClellan, Helmick, Meador, and Schurtz caused havoc all night.
The secondary tackled well and did not allow anyone behind them. The play of the night came from Ben Schurtz and his
pass deflection and interception for a 67 yard touchdown but the play was brought back because of penalty behind the play.
